oTToDev is becoming the official open-source of Bolt.new!
We are thrilled to share some HUGE news for oTToDev, our fork of Bolt.new, which we’ve been building into the best open-source AI coding assistant! After two months of incredible growth and community building, we’ve really gained the attention of the entire AI world—and that includes the creators of Bolt.new.
Today, I’m excited to announce that oTToDev is entering into a strategic partnership with StackBlitz (the creators of Bolt.new) and will become the official open-source version of Bolt.new, under the new name Bolt.diy!
Key Points About This Partnership:
- Our community hub, the oTTomator Think Tank, will remain the heart of our project.
- We maintain complete creative freedom over features, roadmap, and community management.
- Bolt.diy will operate independently from commercial Bolt.new, allowing us to pursue our unique open-source vision.
- We’ll benefit from collaborating with StackBlitz’s open-source experts and participating in joint events.
While transitioning from the oTToDev name to Bolt.diy is a change, this new identity better reflects our DIY ethos – running local LLMs, implementing custom features, and maintaining our independence.
The commercial Bolt.new will follow its own development path, creating a healthy separation that allows both projects to thrive while maintaining a beneficial exchange of ideas.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements about upcoming events with StackBlitz and new opportunities for community involvement!
We can’t wait to see you there!
